Шляпка: дальневосточный обабок (Leccinum extremiorientale) имеет охристо-желтую окраску. У молодых грибов шляпка формы шара, у зрелых грибов – подушковидная, выпуклая. Поверхность шляпки покрывают радиальные морщины. На краях шляпки имеются остатки покрывала. В нижней части шляпка трубчатая, у основания ножки трубочки вмяты. У молодых грибов желтый трубчатый слой, у зрелых оливково-желтый. Диаметр шляпки до 25 см. Кожица немного морщинистая, бугорчатая буроватого окраса. В сухую погоду кожица растрескивается. Гифы кожицы шляпки стоящие, тупые, желтого окраса.
Порошок спор: желтовато-охряный.
Ножка: Ножка гриба имеет цилиндрическую форму, охряного цвета, поверхность ножки покрыта мелкими чешуйками бурого цвета. Чешуйки ножки состоят их гифовых пучков, имеющих схожесть с грифами на кожице шляпки.
Длина ножки 12-13 см. толщина 2-3,5 см. Сплошная, крепкая ножка.
Мякоть: вначале у молодых грибов мякоть плотная, у созревших грибов мякоть становится рыхлой. На срезе мякоть приобретает розоватый окрас. Цвет мякоти грязновато-белый.
Споры: веретеновидные бледно-бурого цвета.
Распространение: встречается в южной части Приморского края, произрастает в дубняках. Местами произрастает достаточно обильно. Время плодоношения август – сентябрь.
Съедобность: Обабок дальневосточный годен для употребления в пищу.
